The Patriots released WR Joey Galloway today after having deactivating him for the last 3 games. Galloway has drawn interest from several teams with rumors of him flying to Kansas City for a tryout being most predominant.
Speaking of the Patriots WR's, Julien Edelman broke his arm today in practice and will miss the rest of the season. Expect Sam Aiken and especially rookie Brandon Tate to step up and become involved in the Patriots offense.
Expect Ahman Green to sign with the Packers in the next day or so and become the backup to Ryan Grant. Brandon Jackson has pretty much worn out his welcome in Green Bay these days.
I am very sad to report that one of my favorite unknown RB's, Marcus Mason has been released from the Washington Redskins. Mason is an explosive player who has great vision and balance. He can be a starting RB in the NFL if given an opportunity and I would expect him to at the very least be swooped up on some teams practice squad.
Just in case you haven't heard, San Francisco has officially named Michael Crabtree as a starting WR opposite Isaac Bruce. Josh Morgan is going to play off the bench now, which could benefit him since he will not be lining up against top corners any longer. Crabtree is a talent, but he will start out slowly so be patient with him in the early going.
Anthony Gonzalez will once again be in-active this week as he is still not recovered from the knee injury he suffered in week 1. I believe that Gonzalez will be out for at least 1-3 more weeks actually so don't be expecting anything out of him for quite awhile still.
