WR Sleepers 2009

I've poured over and over the offseason work outs, training camp and the preseason and come up with my ultimate sleepers for 2009. I've broken them down by position and have included my special Super Sleepers as well. If you like what you see here, you will find even more in the Fantasy Football Search Draft Kit. Members can login anytime and have all the information you will ever need for the draft and all season long.

Wide Receivers
T.J. Houshmandzadeh -- Seattle -- The Seahawks are getting overlooked quite a bit in most fantasy drafts so far and some of this is with good reason. But Houshmandzadeh has been doing great since signing his big money deal this offseason. He and Matt Hasselbeck have spent a lot of time together going over plays, hand signals and reads this summer and the two have developed great chemistry. The Seahawks are not going to be able to run the ball that well and so they will rely on Hasselbeck and his new #1 WR to move the chains this season.

Chris Henry -- Cincinnati -- Chris Henry's skills have never been questioned. He is an amazing talent but his off the field troubles have often kept him well..off the field. At one point during camp, Carson Palmer predicted that Henry would have the best season of any Bengals WR ever. Big words but then Henry has gone out and scored a TD in every preseason game he's played. His off the field troubles seem to be behind him now too. He has a steady girlfriend and his helping raise his child. Teammates notice a difference too as Henry is no longer the last to meetings or first to leave the practice field. He's put in extra work and appears ready to showcase himself as one of the best WR's in the NFL this season. You have to draft Chris Henry.

Robert Meachem -- New Orleans -- No, this has nothing to do with the ridiculous third year WR rule. Rather, Meachem has been slow to learn all of Sean Payton's complex offense since being drafted in the first round in 2007. He started coming on last season but was behind Marques Colston, Lance Moore and Devery Henderson for playing time. This year it appears that Meachem will be the #2 WR in New Orleans and has finally won the trust of both Sean Payton and Drew Brees. Meachem has good size and excellent speed to get down field but has needed to develop better route running ability which he's been able to do. While many are using high picks on Lance Moore, who is coming off of a major shoulder surgery in the offseason, take a shot on Meachem in the lower rounds. He'll outproduce Moore this season and has a chance to catapult himself into fantasy stardom in this offense.
Super Sleeper
Laurent Robinson -- St. Louis -- For the first time in quite awhile the Rams open the season without a proven #1 WR. The team spent two high draft picks last season to take Donnie Avery and Keenan Burton but only Avery showed flashes of being an NFL capable WR. So, the Rams traded for Laurent Robinson and Ronald Curry to try and bring in some more talent and experience to the position. Robinson is a good talent. He is tall with great leaping ability. He can go up and pluck the ball out of the air with the best of them. The biggest issue with Robinson is his strength. He gets jammed easily at the line but has worked hard on building strength and technique since coming to St. Louis this spring. I see Robinson as the best WR on the Rams and one who can make plays in big time situations especially in the red zone. For a low round pick you will get very good production out of Robinson this year and may wind up with an every week starter at some point during the season.

I love Meachem and Laurent. I think we are the only two who love Laurent, but he could be a very serviceable #3. I think Malcolm Kelly and Bryant Johnson fall into the category as well.
