GAME TIME FANTASY CHATS
With the start of the new football season we are all set to unveil our latest invention, the Game Time Fantasy Chats. These are real-time chat boxes in which our staff will be blogging into during each and every NFL game this season. One of our staff members will be assigned a game each week to watch and blog about anything and everything that is relevant to fantasy football players everywhere. If you can't see all the games in your area, don't worry cause we got you covered. You'll get up to the minute scoring updates, injury news, weather conditions, scouting reports, pass target reports, red zone notifications and so much more.
Best of all is that all of our bloggers will be posting the information in one easy to read spot so that you will be updated on every game without having to jump from place to place or open multiple windows. All you need to know about every single NFL game from a fantasy insiders perspective will be right there for you. All you need is a membership to Fantasy Football Search in order to watch the games with the Gurus all season long.
EAGLES LAND SMITH
The Eagles finally made good on the highly speculated rumor about their interest in TE Alex Smith by signing him to a one year deal today. Smith was cut by New England last week and immediately steps into a good situation in Philadelphia. Smith is a huge target with nice soft hand. He can be a force inside the red zone and should be considered a decent backup fantasy TE with the Eagles.
STATUS CHECK
Matt Schaub is going to be able to start in the Texans opener against the Jets on Sunday. Schaub sprained his ankle in the teams third preseason game and has been taking it easy ever since.
Also for Houston, WR Kevin Walter is questionable as his recovery from a hamstring strain has been slower than expected. Walter has not practiced at all this week and will most likely be labeled questionable on the injury report this week. My sources say that Walter is likely to play, but will be limited in how many plays he is on the field for and therefore not a good fantasy play at all this week.
Detroit kicker Jason Hanson is back kicking field goals from 40+ and looking pretty good after having his knee scoped on August 18th. The Lions are optimistic that Hanson will be ready to go on Sunday but have Billy Cundiff hanging around just in case. Hanson will try kickoffs tomorrow to see how the leg recovers and the power he can generate with it at this point.
Kyle Orton practiced with a glove on his throwing hand today but has been declared 100% ready to go for the Broncos opener in Cincinnati this week.
