Fantasy Football Tonight 7/2

MARVIN HARRISON DONE?
According to the NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora, talent evaluators from all over the NFL have graded free agent WR Marvin Harrison behind such has beens as Amani Toomer and Joe Horn. That is a dramatic fall for the future Hall of Famer but one that is not at all surprising. Harrison has lost much of his speed ever since injuring his knee in 2007. He has also grown so afraid of contact that he coughed up the ball just bracing to be tackled last season. His image also took a major hit when he was implicated in an attempted murder investigation outside a night club in his hometown of Philadelphia. If he does eventually sign a deal and come to camp with a team, please do not put any faith in him. As much as we all love the player Harrison once was, it is clear he is no longer that player and if you want to win at this game then you have to be more in tune with the future than aware of the past.

PHIL DAWSON IS AN IDIOT
This guy has missed all of Cleveland's OTA's and is now threatening a holdout because he wants a new contract? You've got to be kidding me! With so many solid kickers patrolling the free agent waters, this is a terrible decision by Dawson who many believe will end up being released altogether. He is a fine kicker to be sure, but in today's day and age you must understand your true worth and the benefit of having a job beats the hell out of the reality of not having one. Matt Stover and John Carney headline the list of available kickers out there and I bet either one of them would be happy to take Dawson's job from him.

IN THE DISCUSSION...
Of who the top RB selected in most drafts should be Steven Jackson. Head coach Steve Spagnuolo says that Jackson will be the focal point of the Rams offense this year, but then again when isn't he? Nevertheless, Jackson is a very good choice as your top RB this year. Not only will he not have any competition for carries but he is a big bruising back with speed to take it to the house on any given play. His pass catching skills are also among the best in the NFL for a RB and an improving offensive line should help out as well. I like LaDanian Tomlinson, Adrian Peterson and Jackson as my clear top 3 RB's right now. As for which one that choice will have to wait until training camp. But you really couldn't go wrong with any one of these guys.
