SPEAKING OF TWITS...
Am I the only one that finds it pathetic that Drew Rosenhaus has dedicated every single tweet the past couple of weeks to telling everyone about how excited Edgerrin James is about the upcoming season? For one, how excited can he be when he doesn't have a job? Heck..James wouldn't even make the cut to watch the games at my place on Sunday's! I understand that an agent has to do what he can to help his client but if there is one general manager in the league who doesn't find it pathetic and lower their opinion of Edge as he reads about him on his agents Twitter, I'd like to meet him.
HAWKING THE BACKFIELD
New Seahawks offensive coordinator Greg Knapp recently said that he prefers a running back by committee approach because it is less of a physical strain to a single RB. This is like a first date telling you her goal in life is to be a stay at home Mom with a half a dozen or so kids. RUN FOR THE HILLS!! While Julius Jones appears to be the front runner for carries, you just know that T.J. Duckett will be hawking TD's left and right while Justin Forsett picks up those all important receptions on third downs and such. Find where you have Julius Jones on your current list of RB's and no matter where he is listed, lower him.
JUST A FEELING
I am really liking the skill position player that the Lions have in place right now. I think that Matt Stafford could be a pretty solid QB in the near future. But even Daunte Culpepper should find an easier time tossing to the likes of Calvin Johnson, Bryant Johnson, Dennis Northcutt and Brian Pettigrew. Add in a backfield of Kevin Smith, Aaron Brown and Maurice Morris and you have a pretty nice mix of talent there in Motown. If Jim Schwartz and crew can get any kind of improvement from their offensive line there will be some big time sleepers coming out of Detroit this season.
