The True Guru's Take J.J. Arrington HOT WAIVER PICK UP
UPGRADED FVR: 7.9
JJ Arrington has quickly became a star in the waiver world of fantasy football. He is a guy we've been paying attention too since the demise of Edgerrin James. We expected Tim Hightower to take over like he has, but you cannot forget about the #2pick for the Cardinals from 2005. He was the man to take the job in 2005 after Emmitt Smith retired, but he failed to impress and eventually Edgerrin James was signed. Since then he has had mainly a special teams roll retuning kicks and punts.
Now, J.J. Arrington has developed into a very fast and agile runningback. He has also become all-purpose, improving his catching abilities. Since they added him to the offense he had to great games. Remove the week 10 game where it was a passing frenzy and the running game was voided. In weeks 9 and 11 he has a total of 15 carries for 101 yards, 7 receptions for 89 yards, and 2 TDs.
We thing his role will grow and he will be used by committee in Arizona as the Cardinals are simply not ready to hand the job to rookie Tim Hightower. That was actually never Hightower's role to begin with. He was brought in as the powerhouse goal line, get a tough 1 yard back. He has been great, but the wear of starting for a rookie is showing. Get Arrington. We have no doubt he will get 8-10 carries a game with a 4-6 receptions. In the Cardinals offense that can be deadly.
