The Guru Gridiron Report: Week 11 Bench/Start Runningbacks
RUNNINGBACKS YOU MUST START
LenDale White was a must start last week and he failed us. He is this week as well and we like him. BenJarvus Green-Ellis is another very good start along with his counterpart Thomas Jones in what proves to be a weather ridden game. Matt Forte will continue his incredible rookie campaign with a big game against the division rival Packers. Finally, we really lik Frank Gore to have a huge day against St. Louis.
Others: Brian Westbrook, Michael Turner, Ronnie Brown, Brandon Jacobs, Marshawn Lynch, Joseph Addai, Marion Barber, DeAngelo Williams
Other Runningbacks To Consider Starting With Some Risk
Duece McCallister is a fine start this week if Reggie Bush doesn't play. Check Bush's status and start the RB that plays. Larry Johnson is back and should have no problem racking points on New Orleans, but he is a risk because he hasn't played in a awhile. but he always brings risk with his health and other runningbacks. Steve Slaton faces Bob Sanders, but should still find some holes against the Colts defense and catch some passes from the backfield. We like Willie Parker and Mewelde Moore. Obviously we prefer the guy who starts, but they should each get significant touches and put up some solid fantasy points. LaDainian Tomlinson is a huge risk this week. He's still a bit hurt and playing against Pittsburgh IN PITTSBURGH. We'd say bench your stud, but its your call. Clinton Portis and Brian Westbrook are both hurt and will not see a full compliment of carries. Portis may not even start. They are both a risk to start, but if they start, you have to play them. We like Leon Washington this week. He's simply too fast for the aging New England defense.
Others: Jamal Lewis, Adrian Peterson, Frank Gore,Willie Parker, Peyton Hillis, Kevin Smith, Chris Johnson
Please Bench These Runningbacks
Dominic Rhodes Should fall to the bench this week as Addai is healthy and the Colts are looking to get their running game on track. Cedric Benson is another bad start against Philly. Ryan Grant will get chopped up by the Bears linebackers. Finally, Johnathon Stewart is still playing hurt, so we recommend benching him till he is healthy. The carries just won't be there.
Others: Rudi Johnson, Edgerrin James, Darren McFadden, Julius Jones, Ahman Green, Willis McGahee, Justin Fargas, Ray Rice, Le'Ron McClain, Tatum Bell, Darren McFadden
Sleeper Runningbacks
We made some great sleeper calls last week for you and this week we only have 2. Again, we will call Ricky Williams to do some damage against the Oakland Raiders defense. He is too strong for them and likely can get more points then Ronnie Brown. We also like Derrick Ward. We think the Ravens game will be a blowout and late in the game look to Ward to clean up the mess. He can put up 100 yards and a TD or 2.
Receivers and Tight Ends!
