The Guru Gridiron Report: Week 10 Bench/Start WRs & TEs
WIDE RECEIVERS YOU MUST START
Is this the week for Brandon Marshall? We think he will find the end zone once at the very least against Cleveland. Marques Colston is back. Play him without reserve. His thumb is healed and he will produce. Matt Jones isn't suspended yet and the Jaguars will need him all day. Look to Lee Evans to catch his trademark bomb this week against New England and some more. Lavernues Coles and Jerricho Cotchery will have very active games this week and should each get a TD this week. Benard Berrian has caught TDs in 4 straight games and we see him doing it in a 5th straight game. Big Game Larry Fitzgerald will catch the TDs this week.
Others: Andre Johnson, Anquan Boldin, Greg Jennings, Santonio Holmes, Steve Smith, Greg Jennings, Greg Camarillo, Roddy White, Eddie Royal, Braylon Edwards, Dwayne Bowe
TIGHT ENDS YOU MUST START
Kellen Winslow, Anthony Fasano, Owen Daniels, Zach Miller, Bo Scaife, Dustin Keller, Donald Lee, Tony Scheffler
Other Wide Receivers To Consider Starting With Some Risk
Lance Moore will lose targets to Colston, but should still be somewhat effective. Calvin Johnson is a major risk if Culpepper starts. I wouldn't start him this week until you see him with Culpepper. We like Devin Hester this week. Chicago will go to the air and he should land one long TD reception. Kevin Walters has an ailing back and knee. We don't recommended starting him based on that risk, but if he plays you may have too. We are not high on Reggie Wayne this week. In fact, the one league I own him in, I'm benching him. Its just not a week we like him, but we cannot recommend benching Wayne, just noting its a very high risk start. Reggie Williams could trip and fall into the end zone. Randy Moss is a tough start this week, but you simply cannot bench him.
Others: Donald Driver, Justin Gage, Nate Washington, Ted Ginn Jr., Donald Driver, Donnie Avery, Reggie Brown, Plaxico Burress, Hines Ward
Other Tight Ends To Consider Starting With Some RiskKevin Boss, John Carleson, Marcedes Lewis, Greg Olsen, Desmond Clark
Please Bench These Wide Receivers
Bench Javon Walker for the normal reasons, but also for the fact that he could be cut shortly. Devery Henderson will fallout of favor with Colston coming back 100%. Rashied Davis is not a good start against Tennessee and with Grossman throwing POSSIBLY. Bobby Wade is a must bench this week as well. Vincent Jackson will see a decrease in his role with Chambers coming back and with LT getting healthier.
Others: Michael Jenkins, Brandon Jones, Marvin Harrison, Sidney Rice, Torry Holt, Bryant Johnson, Koren Robinson, Derrick Mason
Please Bench These Tight Ends
Todd Heap, Alge Crumpler
Sleeper Wide Receivers
Steve Smith (NYG) has been impressive on 3rd downs and last week he caught his first TD of his career. We think he can do it again against a very agressive blitzing Philadelphia defense. We love DeSean Jackson this week. He will be McNabb's big target this week. Steve Breaston will catch a TD this week for Arizona, bank on it. Josh Morgan will also have a nice game as a DEEP sleeper for Shuan Hill and the 49ers. Chansi Stuckey will show up for Farve and catch a TD from Farve if Cotchery stays out of the game. He's a risky start, but we think Farve has 2-3 TDs to offer and 4 guys to hit. Start Stuckey if you are desperate. Brandon Stokley will have a nice game for Denver and should get a TD. start him.
Good luck. Next are our Defenses!
