The Guru Gridiron Report: Week 6 Bench/Start Defenses

Week 6 comes as a very important week. For allot of managers its a make or break week towards a championship. Four important, but not overly important teams or on the BYE and will affect rosters. They are the Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers, Tennessee Titans, Kansas City Chiefs. Hopefully you are able to back the few lost players up. Here are our week 6 picks.

DEFENSES AND YOU MUST START
If there was ever a week to start Minnesota's defense this is the week. Backup QB, Detroit, and at home. After what Reggie Bush did last week and the fact that the Saints are at home consider starting the Saints DEF/ST this week. Another team you have to start, but temper your expectations for points is Washington's defense. They should have a very good game and finally get some sacks. We know they won't give up many points.

Others: Chicago, Green Bay, Atlanta

Other DEFENSES To Consider Starting With Some Risk
The New York Giants have been outstanding, but we think Cleveland will give them a run for their money in the dog pound. They are a must start, but they are a risk to give up some points this week. We'd like to say start Indianapolis defense against Baltimore, but without Sanders and possibly Freeney there is no point. However it is a favorable match up for them.
Others: New England, Miami, Denver, San Diego

Please Bench These DEFENSES

Cincinnati, Dallas, Arizona, Cleveland, Detroit, Houston, Oakland, Jacksonville

Sleeper Defenses

We like the NY Jets defense against the Palmer-less Bengals this week in New York. A must start. Seattle defense is another sleeper defense. They play well at home and with Rodgers still hurting he can leave the game at any point, so if your Titan or Pittsburgh defense is out, get these guys and hope for the best.
