The Guru Gridiron Report: Expert League Week 6 Games

2008 Fantasy Football Search Expert League

The Guru Gridiron Report has an exciting week 6 of action in the Fantasy Football Search Expert League. Another huge week as teams are needing wins badly and a separation is beginning to form. With only 6 playoff spots up for grabs, 14 teams battle for those prized spots in week 6.

The expert league being hosted at http://www.fantasyfootballsearch.com/2008_fantasy_football_expert_league.asp. Every week will bring you updates, scores, and analysis of what went on in that week in The 2008 Fantasy Football Search Expert League.

BLOWOUT OF THE WEEK

We truly did see this coming. Mike Bowser from Xtreme Fantasy Football knocked out co-host and good buddy AJ Pelletier with a devastating hook in week 6. The 83 point win was huge and carried XFF to a 6-0 record in the expert league. Next for the greatest show on Internet turf, Mock Draft Central.

This was the closest game of the week and Scout Fantasy Football pulled out the nail biter by less then 6 points. The game ball for SFF has to go to Plaxico Burress who pulled out the win on Monday night. Santana Moss let Johnny Archive down for a second straight week.

Owners Box Sports failed to comeback after a tough first loss of the season last week and has now dropped two games in a row. He fell to the surging Big Game Fantasy Sports Patrick Welsh who has now won 3 games in a row and is clearly one of the hottest teams in the league. Both teams played very well, but Welsh got a huge win and pulled himself back into playoff contention after starting 0-3.

Mock Draft Central tried to get back on the winning track in a battle of 2-3 teams, but fell flat near the end as Pro Fantasy Games exploded for points 41 points on Monday night to pull out the minor upset with Braylon Edwards and Steve Heiden. This was a fun game to watch between to tough competitors. This time it went to Pro Fantasy Games.

Fantasy Football Search continued his surge getting a second dominating win over a tough opponent. Fantasy Sports Zone put up a heel of a fight and a late surge with Philip Rivers, but it wasn't enough to stop Tony Romo, Plaxico Burress, and The True Guru's band of misfits. This win put FFS into a tie for first place in the West division and the loss has set FSZ into a tough hole to dig out of at 1-5.

The decline of Fantasy Football Starters continues with a third straight loss. This was a huge win for Fighting Chance Fantasy who is now at 2-4 and still in the playoff hunt. A fifth loss may have been too much to come back from. FFS is looking for answers to three straight losses after a 3-0 start in the expert league. Hopefully he will find it in week 7.

After a tough loss last week for both teams, Junkyard Jake got back on a winning plane with a huge win over the hapless NoOffseason.com team, who managed only 45 points in the blowout loss. This win put Junkyard Jake in second place in the East division, now tied with the sagging Owners Box Sports team. Paul Hickey form noOffseason.com will look to rebound from two straight hard losses next week.

Week 7 Match Ups:
Fantasy Football Starters (3-3) Vs Johnny Archive (2-4)
A great matchup as both teams need a win badly and one will get that badly need win.

Junkyard Jake (4-2) Vs Fantasy Football Search (4-2)
Battle of two good friends and old foes as RC takes on his nemesis Todd "The True Guru" Farino. Both teams are having great season and both are looking for a 5th win.

Big Game Fantasy Sports (3-3) Vs. Fantasy Sports Zone (1-5)
Patrick Welsh looks to trump his 4th win in a row on the fading FSZ team. Rhett looks to get back to winning and make a last ditch effort towards a playoff run.

Pro Fantasy Games (3-3) Vs. Nooffseason.com (2-4)
Pro Fantasy Games is hot and looks to continue his hot streak against a cold NoOffseason.com team. Paul has different things in mind, like getting a win and looking at 3-4.

Xtreme Fantasy Football (6-0) Vs Mock Draft Central (2-4)
All eyes are on Mike Bowser as he remains undefeated and goes for his 7th straight win against Geoff Stein a tough and gritty competitor. Look for this one to be much closer than Mike would like and even an upset could occur.

Owners Box Sports (4-2) Vs Scout Fantasy Football (4-2)
Two 4-2 teams square off. SFF is coming off a big win and Owners Box Sports have dropped two in a row. This is the MATCH UP OF THE WEEK.

Fighting Chance Fantasy (2-4) Vs. NFL Fantasy Playbook (1-5)
Fighting Chance Fantasy got a much needed win and now he gets just what the doctor ordered, a 1-5 NFL Fantasy Playbook. This team has one upset under his belt, can he get another?
