Guru Leagues Update: The True Guru Stirkes First Blood Going 5-1 In Week 1

It was a great first week for The True Guru. I managed to win 5 of my 6 leagues and the updates have been posted to at Fantasy Football Search. Here is the breakdown of my great week.

Fantasy Football Search Expert League
The True Guru 126, Archive Nation Troops 92
I took on my friend Johnny Archive and it was a blood thirty contest that ended with a big win for The True Guru. My team with Tony Romo, Reggie Bush, and Randy Moss just couldn't be stopped. Thomas Jones added in 22 points with a fiery first week and made it impossible for me to lose this week. Again, wins in expert leagues are huge. I notched one this week and I have to say it felt good!

J.A.I.L League

The True Guru 110, Large and In Charge 94

I tied with the top score in the league and did it with help from my tremendous receiving core of Plaxico Buress, Larry Fitzgerald and Terrell Owens who all combined for 44 points. However, the Bears defense get the game ball in this league for the week getting me 20 points. It was a big win in a tough league to start the season.

Texas Vs Vegas League

Da Bears 152, LV Cowboys 143

This was our only loss of the week and it was a tough one to take for a money league. I've been in this league 9 years and Da Bears has always played me tough, but bad luck was on my side this week. First and foremost my Vikings defense completely let me down. They were a bust week 1. Add on I lost Marion Barber for nearly a quarter and a half in which Felix Jones got a TD and 62 yards. That would have put me over the top. The silver lining in all this is I get Brandon Marshal back next week instead of starting DeAngelo Willaims. Very nice. Great win for Da Bears as his team with Drew Brees was too much for me this week.

Football Dynasty VI

The True Guru 275, Handlbars! 231

What a fun week it was in this high scoring league. This is the league that starts 10 individual defensive players. I had the second highest score in the league even with busts like J.T. O'Sullivan, Drew Bennett, and Josh Brown on my starting roster. Reggie Bush was the star here along with Terrell Owens. On the defensive side John Abraham, Kyle Vander Bosch, and Aaron Kampmen turned in outstanding performances. This league starts 21 players every week, so it will be a fun one to watch and an important one to win in each week.

Coast 2 Coast

LV Cowboys 123, Packers Forever 65

If you don't already know, Packers Forever is a top team in this league and is a tight rival with me going back two years when he knocked me out of the playoffs. I got some extra revenge and started my title defense with a ass whoopin'. I scored the most points in the league and did it with outstanding performances by Michael Turner, Brian Westbrook, Brett Farve, and Reggie Wayne. The game ball definitely goes to Turner with 220 yards and 2 TDs. All the guys in this league are gunning after me with my smack talk and 2007 championship. I'm ready for them.

NSP Experts League

FF Search 95, Brunoboys.net 78

Big win in the NSP Experts League for Fantasy Football Search. I was losing this one until the second games started and never looked back. Out of my teams 95 points, 71 points were scored between Drew Brees, Kevin Smith, Antonio Gates, and the Bears defense. Drew Brees gets my game ball in this league for week 1. Larry at Bruno Boys put up a helluva fight, but some of his key players had letdown week 1 games. Any match up in an expert league is a tough one.
