Week 13 The True GURU Picks & Sleepers In Review

Week 13 was a solid week for us. In the end we finished at 65% for a success rate, and that is pretty good amongst the consensus. We did do poorly in WRs and TEs, but nailed QBs and did very well on RBs.
Since we are calling games on Wed we don't always know all the injuries. We will try to put a check injury status next to possibly hurt players. Others we just won't call for the week since its too up in the air. Sometimes we may not know for sure if a QB will start.
Our sleepers were very good this week with 6 successful calls out of 10. We were thrilled with Patrick Crayton and his 2 TDs.

Here is a rundown for week 10 with all the numbers:

QB's 18/24 Correct ( 75%)
RB's 18/27 Correct (67%)
WR's 22/40 Correct ( 55%)
TE's 12/20 Correct (60%)
DEF's 19/27 Correct (70%)

OVERALL THIS WEEK: 89/138 Correct (65%) Last week 79/116 Correct (68%) "Start at your own risk "calls or players that did not play due to injuries were not counted.

Here is the review of our picks and how they stacked up:

QUARTERBACKS (18/24 75%)

1st Tier Quarterbacks WE RECOMMENDED AS MUST Start:
We nailed this tier calling 6 of 7 correct. Only Phillip Rivers let us down. Big Ben and Derek Anderson were great call here, along with Drew Brees.

2nd Tier Quarterbacks WE RECOMMENDED You have to Start:
We did terrible in this tier with 3 of 8 correct. We were really let down by Campbell and Farve, along with Kitna, Eli Manning, and Culter. Over all Brady, Hasslebeck, and Garrard were our only good calls.

4th Tier Quaterbacks WE RECOMMENDED MUST BENCH:
We recommended benching 5 QB's and got burned by only one QB, and shockingly it was Vince Young! We are happy with 5 of 6 correct.

RUNNINGBACKS (18/27 67%)

1st Tier Runningbacks WE RECOMMENDED MUST Start:
We had a solid 1st tier with RB's getting 4 of 6 correct. Our only bad RB calls were Willie Parker, who you would have figured would have run in the rain all day at home against Cincinnati, and Joseph Addai with only 67 yards on the ground.

2nd Tier Runningbacks WE RECOMMENDED You have to Start:
We great here with 9 out of 12 correct calls to start at runningback. Willis McGahee, Ernest Graham, and Justin Fargas had great games. Kevin Faulk and Reggie Bush were busts, and Im not sure I have any confidence left in Reggie Bush at this point for this season.

4th Tier Runningbacks WE RECOMMENDED MUST BENCH:
We did bad here and only got 4 of the 7 correct in this tier. We told you to bench Ron Grant, Ron Dayne, Chester Taylor, and DeShaun Foster and we got burned. The rest we were good on.

WIDE RECEIVERS (22/40 55%)

1st Tier Wide Receivers WE RECOMMENDED MUST Start:
We were pretty bad with WR's this week in nearly every tier. Here in the 1st tier we were 50%. Hines Ward and Braylon Edwards were our top calls in this tier, along with Torry Holt.

2nd Tier Wide Receivers WE RECOMMENDED You have to Start:
This tier had a whopping 21 picks and we got less 50% right, terrible. Wow, outside of great performances by Roddy White, Greg Jennings, Justin Gage, and Marques Colston there isn't a whole lot more to talk abut. Just terrible.

4th Tier Wide Receivers WE RECOMMENDED MUST BENCH:
We recommended benching 7 WRs, and we were on target all, but two for the third straight week. Brandon Stokley and Jerry Porter burned us. Porter normally gets everyone twice a year.
TIGHT ENDS (12/20 60%)

Tight Ends To Start:
We got 4/7 in this tier. Tightends again didn't do much this week. Chris Cooley
and Jason Witten had solid game while Kevin Winslow and Leonard Pope had great games.

2nd Tier Tight Ends You have to Start:
We did worse in this tier picking 3/6 correct. Dallas Clark and old stand out Tony Gonzalez performed well.

Tight Ends To BENCH:
We recommended benching a record 7 Tightends, and we got lit up by Desmond Clark and Marcedes Lewis. The remaining 5 picks were locks.

DEFENSES (19/27 70%)

1st Tier Defenses MUST Start:
This was a tough week with match ups. We could only recommend 4 defenses as must starts. Only 2, Pittsburgh and San Diego did well.

2nd Tier Defenses You have to Start:
Ok, where do we start. We got 6 out of 10 right. Minnesota, NY Giants, and Indianapolis looked solid. Detroit, Philadelphia, and Tampa Bay were let downs.

4th Tier Defenses MUST BENCH:

We told you to bench 13 defenses in fear of heavy scoring. 2 burned us and had good performances. Those teams were Carolina and Buffalo.

SLEEPERS 6/10 60%)

Jets, DEF - 13 points, under 300 yards, 3 sacks, 2 Fumbles, and 3 INT. Very good start.
Patrick Crayton, DAL (WR) - 2 TD's and an all around awesome game.

Sidney Rice, IND (WR) - 50+ yards, and a TD. We will take that.

Lendal White RB, (TEN) - 60+ Total yards and a TD. That is worth some nice points.

Trent Dilfer, SAN (QB) - Minor disappointment this week. He threw 2 touchdowns, but threw INTS and only 171 yards. Not good.

Selvin Young RB, (DEN) - Henry is still there and took 2 of his TD's and lots of carries.

Bobby Engram WR, (SEA) - 60 yards and a TD. Nice.

Vernon Davis TE, (SAN) - Just terrible. 1 catch for 19 yards.

Reggie Williams WR, (JAC) - 4 catches for 69 yards. Not horrible, but nothing to brag about. BAD PICK.

St. Louis DEF - 4 sacks, 2 INTs, and a FF. They only gave up 16 points, so I'd call this a success.
