Week 12 START/BENCH players GURU Style!

Week 12 brings many tough match ups as good defenses are piled up against good offenses. The results are low fantasy points. No fear there are still plenty of good match ups to consider like the Jets at Dallas or Philly at New England.
(Sleepers will not appear in this blog. If you do not see a player, read our sleeper blog for this week.)

QUARTERBACKS
1st Tier Quarterbacks MUST Start:
Tom Brady
Drew Brees
Peyton Manning
Eli Manning
Ben Roethlisberger
Derek Anderson
Tony Romo
Matt Hasslebeck
Matt Schaub
2nd Tier Quarterbacks You have to Start:
Phillip Rivers
Jon Kitna
Brett Farve
Kurt Warner
Carson Palmer
Marc Bulger
Jay Cutler
3rd Tier Quarterbacks Start At Your Own Risk (Big Payoff or Big Fall):
Duante Culpepper - At this point I wouldn't start or touch this guy.
Jeff Garcia - The Washington secondary is tough and will be head hunting after getting burned by Dallas. Not a good match up for Garcia.
Rex Grossman - We actually like this match up and he's at home. If you need a desperate QB start, what the heck. Give him a hot.
4th Tier Quarterbacks MUST BENCH:
Trent Dilfer
Joey Harrington/Byron Leftwich
Cleo Lemon

RUNNINGBACKS
1st Tier Runningbacks MUST Start:
.
Willie Parker
Joseph Addai
Marion Barber
Maurice Jones-Drew
Ron Grant
Reggie Bush
Lendal White
Maurice Morris
2nd Tier Runningbacks You have to Start:
Stephen Jackson
Brian Westbrook
Willis McGahee
LaDainian Tomlinson
Ernest Graham
Justin Fargas
Chester Taylor
Cedric Benson
DeShaun Foster
3rd Tier Runningbacks Start At Your Own Risk(Big Payoff or Big Fall):
Edgerrin James - This game has shootout written all over it. He may get 10-12 carries. He can catch some passes, but doubtful.
Kevin Jones - This guy is hit or miss. Detroit will have to mix things up to beat Green Bay, so they have to ball control and run allot. We thin he's a great start this week, but again its hit or miss.
Rudi Johnson - He's having a terrible year, but at some point this team has to have a good game. Tennessee is not the ideal match up, but he could do well.
Selvin Young - His primary risk is how many carries will he give up to Andre Hall. Otherwise he is a solid start this week.
4th Tier Runningbacks MUST BENCH:
Jessie Chatman
Jamal Lewis
Clinton Portis
Warrick Dunn
Thomas Jones

WIDE RECEIVERS
1st Tier Wide Receivers MUST Start:
Larry Fitzgerald
Hines Ward
Terrell Owens
Reggie Wayne
Torry Holt
Greg Jennings
Andre Johnson
T.J. Houshmandzadeh
Plaxico Burress
Braylon Edwards
Marques Colston
Anquin Boldin
Wes Welker
Randy Moss
2nd Tier Wide Receivers You have to Start:
Roy Williams
Joey Galloway
Chad Johnson
Amani Toomer
Ronald Curry
Santana Moss
Chris Henry
DJ Hackett
Patrick Crayton
Deion Branch - (Check his injury status)
Shaun McDonald
Isaac Bruce
Jerricho Cotchery
Brandon Stokley
Steve Smith
Benard Berrian
Donte Stallworth
3rd Tier Wide Receivers Start At Your Own Risk(Big Payoff or Big Fall):
Lee Evans - He's good and can burn New England. I think Buffalo will give them a run for their money.
Donald Driver - We think Farve will have a hard time in Detroit. When he throws TDs it will likely b Lee or Jennings getting the TDs.
Dwayne Bowe - He's got the rookie throwing to him, but a soft defense. Its a hard call. We like the match up, just worry about the QB.
Brandon Marshall - On the road against the Bears. We see lots of hand-offs. Bench.
Bobby Engram - If Branch is back and with the emergence of Hackett, Engram's looks will fall off quite a bit.
Derrick Mason - I have no idea what Baltimore is doing, but its not good for Mason.
David Patten - For NOW he's fallen off the map.
Calvin Johnson - Has potential for a good game, but can be over matched by the aggressive Green Bay defense.
Lee Evans - Loseman will be running for his life the whole game. That doesn't bode well for Evans, buthe can still catch a bomb or 2.
4th Tier Wide Receivers MUST BENCH:
Arnez Battle
Marty Booker
Antwaan Randle El
M. Muhammad
Jerry Porter
Vincent Jackson
Roydell Williams
Roddey White

TIGHT ENDS
1st Tier Tight Ends MUST Start:
Chris Cooley
Dallas Clark
Bo Scaife
Jason Whitten
Donald Lee
Heath Miller
Kevin Winslow
Jeremy Shockey
2nd Tier Tight Ends You have to Start:
Tony Gonzalez
Antonio Gates
LJ Smith
Tony Scheffler
Eric Johnson
3rd Tier Tight Ends Start At Your Own Risk(Big Payoff or Big Fall):
Todd Heap - Big risk. His quarterback isn't there and he's rusty.
Leonard Pope - He can catch TD passes, but nothing else. BIG RISK.
4th Tier Tight Ends MUST BENCH:
Vernon Davis
Alge Crumpler
Desmond Clark
DEFENSES
1st Tier Defenses MUST Start:
Seattle
New England
Dallas
Arizona
Chicago
Pittsburgh
San Diego
Jacksonville
Indianapolis
2nd Tier Defenses You have to Start:
Tennessee
Kansas City
Denver
Tampa Bay
Green Bay
Baltimore
Washington
3rd Tier Defenses Start At Your Own Risk:
New Orleans - Another risky week for New Orleans, but they can over-match Carolina. Philadelphia
4th Tier Defenses MUST BENCH:
San Francisco
Philadelphia
Miami
Minnesota
Carolina
Cleveland
Atlanta
Cincinnati
St. Louis
Buffalo
NY Jets

We are no longer going to do kickers. They are way to hard to predict. and most teams only have one anyway. If you need to find a kicker cause of a BYE week base your decisions on 3 factors:
1. Is the kicker kicking in a Dome? (that's good)
2. Is the Defense the kicker facing a tough defense?
3. Is the kicker's offense very good?
