Week 11 The True GURU Picks & Sleepers In Review

Week 11 was a good week for us. With 112 picks, we were correct on 64% of them. We have been hovering around the 65% range, which is good, but I'd like to break back into the 70% range. We were again great with 76% accuracy with QBs, but performed somewhat poorly on RBs and for the first time defenses. There were allot of mis-matches and poor performances this week the helped to skew the results. Our sleepers were solid again with 6 successful calls out of 10. We are very pleases getting 60% of our sleepers correct.
Here is a rundown for week 10 with all the numbers:
QB's 16/21 Correct ( 76%)
RB's 13/22 Correct (59%)
WR's 23/35 Correct ( 66%)
TE's 9/14 Correct (64%)
DEF's 11/20 Correct (55%)

OVERALL THIS WEEK: 72/112 Correct (64%) Last week 66/105 Correct (63%) "Start at your own risk "calls or players that did not play due to injuries were not counted.

Here is the review of our picks and how they stacked up:

QUARTERBACKS (16/21 76%)

1st Tier Quarterbacks WE RECOMMENDED AS MUST Start:
We had another great week with QB's, but not as well in the 1st tier. Big Ben and the Manning brothers were terrible this week. All that said, our other 5 picks were not only easy, but came through.

2nd Tier Quarterbacks WE RECOMMENDED You have to Start:
We had great success here with 6 out of 8 QB's getting the job done. We dropped Romo because of the tough Redskin secondary, who was in the end banged up. He came through along with Hasslebeck, Garcia, Kitna, and even Rivers with 300+ yards and a TD. The let downs were McNabb and Bulger.

4th Tier Quaterbacks WE RECOMMENDED MUST BENCH:
We recommended benching 5 QB's and all were correct. Clemens came close, but was worthy of a bench.

RUNNINGBACKS (13/22 59%)

1st Tier Runningbacks WE RECOMMENDED MUST Start:
Out of the 8 RB's we selected in this tier, 75% of them had great games. This wasn't a particularly great week for RB's in general. Willie Parker and Stephen Jackson stunk it up. McGahee, LT, Westbrook, and Jacobs all had solid performances in a weak RB week.

2nd Tier Runningbacks WE RECOMMENDED You have to Start:
We did awful with our 2nd tier of RB's getting 2 out of 7 correct. Nearly all were a bust Ernest Graham and Maurice Jones-Drew . Marion Barber has been a dud for 3 weeks now.

4th Tier Runningbacks WE RECOMMENDED MUST BENCH:
We recommended benching 7 RB's, and 2 burned us. Thomas Jones had his first good game of the year, and so did Cedric Benson. Go figure. Next week, they will still be on the Bench list.

WIDE RECEIVERS (23/35 66%)

1st Tier Wide Receivers WE RECOMMENDED MUST Start:
In this tier we gave you 13 WR's to start and 5 let us down. Those 5 were Hines Ward, Roy Williams, Reggie Wayne, Amani Toomer, and Bobby Engram. TO, Randy Moss, and Larry Fitzgerald did very well.

2nd Tier Wide Receivers WE RECOMMENDED You have to Start:
We did a little better in the 2nd tier leading the way was Anquin Boldin and DJ Hackett. After Crayton was shutout last week, we knew he was due. Edwards only had one catch, but he made it count. Chambers, Randle El, and Chad Johnson were some of the busts.

4th Tier Wide Receivers WE RECOMMENDED MUST BENCH:
We recommended benching 8 WRs, and we were on target all, but two. Calvin Johnson got a great TD pass.

TIGHT ENDS (9/14 64%)

Tight Ends To Start:
We did poorly for top tier TE's. this week We chose 7, and only 4 did well for us. Cooley, Gates, Lee, and Winslow has great games.

2nd Tier Tight Ends You have to Start:
We did better in this tier picking 5/8 correct. No real stars just solid TE performances.

Tight Ends To BENCH:
We recommended benching Vernon Davis, Desmond Clark, and Alge Crumpler this week. They all did poorly.

DEFENSES (11/20 55%)

1st Tier Defenses MUST Start:
It was tough to be a defense this week. Lots of scoring. We gave you 6 top tier defenses, and 3 came through. New England, Green Bay, and Tampa Bay did well. Pittsburgh was a bust.

2nd Tier Defenses You have to Start:
We recommended 6 defenses in the 2nd tier. They all did average or below average. Not much success here.

4th Tier Defenses MUST BENCH:

We told you to bench 11 defenses in fear of heavy scoring. 4 burned us and had good performances. San Francisco, St. Louis, Arizona and Cleveland all did well.

SLEEPERS 67/10 60%)

Jason Campbell, WAS (QB) - Did great. 348 yards and 2 TDs. This was one of his best games in his young career.
Neil Rackers, K (ARI) - 5 PATs, and nothing else.

Chester Taylor, RB (MIN) - Huge day. 200 total yards and three TDs. Beautiful.

Rudi Johnson, RB (CIN) - Very poor again. We thought that the Bengals would attempt to revive the running game, but no. Guess what, they lost.

Ronald Curry, WR (OAK)

Joe Jurevicius, WR (CLE) - We expected much more from Jurevicius, but we still got a decent game, especially in a point per reception league with 4 catches and 82 yards.

Julius Jones, RB (DAL) - Again a bust. We expected him to run more against the Redskins.

Denver, DEF - Excellent call here. The Denver defense showed up to the tune of 5 (forced fumbles) turnovers and a sack. Add in the Special teams TD.

Owen Daniels, TE (HOU) - We expected him to find the end zone, but he still had a great day considering TE standards. 5 catches, 74 yards.

Minnesota, DEF - I really thought they would show up against a terrible team like the Raiders, but they were a bust.
