Week 8 The True GURU Picks & Sleepers In Review
QB's 13/17 Correct ( 77%)
RB's 12/21 Correct (57%)
WR's 16/24 Correct ( 67%)
TE's 7/13 Correct (54%)
DEF's 13/18 Correct (72%)
OVERALL THIS WEEK: 61/93 Correct (66%) Last week 52/86 Correct (60%)
"Start at your own risk "calls or players that did not play due to injuries were not counted.
Last week, was our worst week of the 2007 season and this week with an overall average of 66% correct calls we improved and got much closer to the standard average we are looking to have of 70%. This week we did amazing on QBs, but RBs and TEs killed us.
Here is the review of our picks and how they stacked up:
QUARTERBACKS (13/17 77%)
1st Tier Quarterbacks WE RECOMMENDED AS MUST Start:
We recommended 6 QB's as must starts. All 6 had amazing games except for Eli Manning. I'm not sure what his problem was, but the rain didn't help. Only 59 yards passing against Miami is ridiculous. You should get that on the first drive. Derek Anderson and Rivers were somewhat risky picks as MUST starts and they performed exactly how we expected. Brett Farve is for real and isn't going anywhere.
2nd Tier Quarterbacks WE RECOMMENDED You have to Start:
4th Tier Quaterbacks WE RECOMMENDED MUST BENCH:
RUNNINGBACKS (12/21 55%)
1st Tier Runningbacks WE RECOMMENDED MUST Start:
Tough calls this week. LT didn't do bad, but certainly didn't do enough. Adrian Peterson disappointed for the first week in awhile. Stephen Jackson was having a great game before he got hurt, but we consider him a success as we do not predict injuries. Willie Parker and Jacobs were great.
2nd Tier Runningbacks WE RECOMMENDED You have to Start:
Out of the 8 picks we made in this tier only Westbrook and Lendall White shined. The Green Bay RB shuffle produced Grant with 104 yards, and Reggie Bush had over 120 total yards. Not much else here.
4th Tier Runningbacks WE RECOMMENDED MUST BENCH:
We recommended benching 7 RBs this week., the most we've ever had. All but 2 were correct. We got burned by Kevin jones big time. Chatman didn't have an amzing game, but 100 total yards and 3 catches isn't bad at all.
1st Tier Wide Receivers WE RECOMMENDED MUST Start:
2nd Tier Wide Receivers WE RECOMMENDED You have to Start:
T.J. Houshmandzadeh, Greg Jennings Wes Welker, Hines Ward, Joey Galloway, and Lee Evans came up big here. The rest don't matter with those guys. Chad Johnson is turning into a major dissappointed.
4th Tier Wide Receivers WE RECOMMENDED MUST BENCH:
We recommended benching 3 WRs, and we were on target with all of them.
Last week Donte Stallworth burned us, not this week.
Tight Ends To Start:
Cooley, Clark, and Gates had great games, especially Gates with 2 TDs. Health Miller took the week off apparently. Shockey got caught up in the London game with Eli Manning and had little.
All failures. Bad picks.
Tight Ends To BENCH:
We recommended benching Bubba Franks,
David Martin, and Daniel Graham. We hope you did!
1st Tier Defenses MUST Start:
2nd Tier Defenses You have to Start:
4th Tier Defenses MUST BENCH:
Hopefully you benched Atlanta, Philadelphia, Washington, Carolina, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, and Cincinnati. Buffalo burned us.
Sometimes there just isn't 10 good sleepers, but we try our best every week to give you those 10. We went 5/10 this week, but even our successes weren't anything super to talk about expect Bulger and
Marc Bulger STL (QB) - 310 yards and a TD. Not bad.
Jason Wright CLE (RB) - Jamal Lewis played, and we expected that.
Derrick Ward NYG (RB) - Was inactive.
Shaun McDonald DET (WR) - 6 catches, 64 yards. Better than allot of WRs. Right? Namely, Chad Johnson.
Detroit (DEF) - PLayed well against Chicago giving up only 7 points.
Randy McMicheals STL (TE) - I don't even know why we pick TEs as sleepers. 2 catches, 39 yards.
Tony Scheffler DEN (TE) - Oh yea, this is why we pick TEs as sleepers.
Chad Pennington NYJ (QB) - Got benched and deservedly so.
Vincent Jackson SAN (WR) - Was non-existent in this game.
Jets (DEF) - The Jets defense played well and gave up the one bomb to Evans. Not much else to talk about in this game.
