The True GURU Week 2 Picks Review
Week 2 is over and we now have in the final results. We had a very good week and if you followed our advice odds are you had a good week as well.
Quarterbacks...
We did much better in those area. Except for Donovan McNabb we had a great week. We will not be knocking on McNabb's door again until the real McNabb comes to play, and we STILL feel he will even after getting burned twice. Manning didn't have a great game, but you still have to be happy with is results at 300+ and a TD. Plus he's Manning, always start him. Delhomme, Romo, Schaub, and Palmer all had great games, especially Palmer! SO 5/6 on the QBs, which is much improved over last week. We recommended benching Eli Manning, Campbell, Grossman, and Cutler. All of them threw 1 TD, and 1-2 INTs and only 2 of them broke 200 yards. Hopefully your backup did better, but in our leagues those guys are backups.
Runningbacks...
LT had another bad game, but again I could never recommend benching him. Peterson and Bush also had average performances, so we did not fair as well on the runningbacks. However if you started LaMont Jordan, Addia, M. Barber, or Alexander you had a good day. We recommended benching Tennessee runningbacks, Ronnie Brown, Lynch, and Tatum Bell. Only LenDale White got in the end zone and 64 yards. I wouldn't call that a stellar performance, but one worth starting as a #3 RB.
Wide Receivers...
All of our WR's has great games except for Fitzgerald and Harrison, but if you are in a repceptions league they both did well. We consider it a successful 100% week with WRs primarily cause we will always recommend Harrison and almost always Fitzgerald who will come around when Lienart does. Our benches were I Bruce, Horn, Burress, and Evans. We did ok here. Bruce had a solid game, and Burress found the end zone. We were assuming the Manning wasn't going to play. Since Manning did play we would have removed him from the list.
Tight Ends...
We had a tough day with TEs. They are certainly the hardest to gauge on a week to week basis. Gates had he best week followed by Shockey. All the rest basically had 2 catches with 20 to 40 yards. Nothing to brag about. We were wrong on the benching on Benjamin Watson. He had a very good game and a TD catch.
Defenses
Our defenses did all right. Philly is a dead defense. We thought they would shine against Washington at home and failed. If not for some lucky catches Dallas would have been even better. Jacksonville, Bears, and Ravens were fantastic. We told you to bench Buffalo, Miami, NY Giants, NY Jets, Houston . Were we wrong on any of them?
